Star Wars Legend Mike Quinn returns as Nien Nunb in Star Wars: The Force Awakens!

Star Wars legend Mike Quinn has confirmed he has returned (as did Tim Rose and Phil Tippet) for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

If you’re not familiar with Mike Quinn he performed the puppet work for Nien Nunb, bringing that legend to life. )Not to mention Quinn also handled Sy Snootles, assisted with Yoda, did some Admiral Ackbar work, a baby Ewok, Jabba’s electronic eyes, and Ghoel.) See, he’s a legend.

He has now confirmed he is Nien Nunb on his Facebook page:

Well I’m small and blurry and only in a brief moment, but I made the trailer, lol!
I’m just to the left of Finn’s cheek. You can just make out my large head and black vest.
Dang I love those new X-Wings!

While the post is mostly facetious it does sound like the costume actually has some new upgrades:

Here you can see him in the new trailer:

It does seem like he is flying an X-wing or a fighter in this film and not a big ship.

Here you can see the footage shot with Quinn that wasn’t used as Ten Numb (Ten is one more than Nien):

It is so awesome to have Mike Quinn back and bringing awesome creatures to life again in Star Wars: The Force Awakens along with a few other legends in the field too. (Okay, a lot of legends.)
