I didn’t really expect much from a Star Wars tabletop pinball machine. I figured I would have a little bit of fun with it before turning it over to my young son. I was hoping the fun would come from the basic difficulty of the machine which would be enhanced by the sounds it includes. Of all the things I have picked up since “Force Friday,” this is the worst of the worst.
The box says this:
The electronic scoring is there. The “Real Movie Sound Effects” is where the problem is for me on this product. If I’m going to buy a janky toy centered around the promotion of a movie, I expect some movie immersion and there simply isn’t any. It has three sound effects: one appears to be a First Order stormtrooper’s laser blast, one is Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber, and one is Kylo Ren’s lightsaber. You get three sound effects from the movie and they’re all just noise played through a low quality speaker.
The flippers don’t really have very good action and the game is sort of unplayable, even for a kid’s toy. When all is said and done, this isn’t worth picking up or gifting to anyone. I plan on taking it back to the store this afternoon and seeing if I can get my money back.
This product is for collectors that buy everything or if you are buying a birthday present for someone you hate. For the $25 or so this cost you can buy better things with your money right now.
