George Lucas on why he is done making Star Wars films

Vanity Fair has a new video with George Lucas (featuring J.J. Abrams) on Lucas’ advice for directing new Star Wars films and why he quit the band. You can sense the irritation he must have felt when he owned Star Wars and fans would complain and limit his ability to experiment with the films.

I already miss George Lucas being a part of Star Wars. But I’m glad he can make those experimental films he talks about. I wonder if he makes them and doesn’t show anyone or if they’re like that old car in the garage someone means to fix up and just never gets around to? I’m sure having a baby… no, I know having a baby makes getting to those projects even harder.
