Star Wars: The Force Awakens Verizon Google Cardboard viewer pics!

By  |

Today Luke Danger and I received our Google Cardboard viewers from Verizon! They’re giving them out for free as part of their #WhyNotWednesday giveaways at the Verizon store. Tomorrow the Star Wars App will have the first VR adventure “Jakku Spy” available. There will be nine in total! On the next episode of “Now, This is Podcasting!” there will be a chance to win one! But even easier than that is just going to the Verizon store tomorrow and getting one for free!

Your phone goes inside these boxes and transforms it into a really cool “VR” machine. We can’t wait to try out the Jakku Spy content tomorrow:

From yesterday:

Verizon has partnered with Google to create limited-edition Google Cardboard virtual reality viewers. On Wednesday we’re going to be able to visit the world of Jakku in virtual reality. The first content to hit will be called “Jakku Spy.” We’re going to be able to grab this from the Official Star Wars App.

“Jakku Spy” is going to let us experience what it is like to be a spy for General Organa’s Resistance. “Jakku Spy” is the first of nine virtual reality missions that will be released relating to Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The Google Cardboard viewers will be available starting this Wednesday at Verizon stores. The best part is they’re free! Verizon has a “Whynot Wednesday” program that hooks people up with free stuff on hump day. The viewers are going to be modeled after the Stormtrooper, Kylo Ren, BB-8, and the always affable Artoo-Detoo.
