Star Wars announces “Forces of Destiny” animated micro-series

The official Star Wars Twitter account just dropped a minute-long video announcing Star Wars: Forces of Destiny.  This appears to be a new 2D animated show that will be 2-3 minute adventures released on the Disney YouTube, according to StarWars.com.  A two-part TV special will also air on Disney Channel in fall 2017.  It will highlight multiple eras, showing Padme, Ahsoka, Leia, Jyn, and Rey among other characters in the video.  In addition, producer Carrie Beck says that Daisy Ridley, Felicity Jones, and Lupita Nyong’o (narrating as Maz) will reprise their Star Wars roles.  Matt Lanter, Ashley Eckstein, Tiya Sircar, and Vanessa Marshall are also involved.  There will be apparel, books, and more in the Forces of Destiny line coming too!  This new project is being written by Jen Muro and will be coming this summer.

A special preview of the series will be shown at Celebration during the “Heroines of Star Wars” panel on Friday.
