Jack Thorne to write Star Wars: Episode IX

A new pass at Episode IX

The Hollywood Reporter just dropped some huge news regarding 2019’s Star Wars: Episode IX. Colin Trevorrow will still be directing the film, and has completed the first draft of the script. But now it looks like that draft could possibly be scrapped as writer Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) will be stepping in as the writer of the film.

“Jack Thorne, the British scribe who wrote the upcoming Julia Roberts-Jacob Tremblay movie Wonder, has been tapped to work on the Star Wars installment that is to be directed by Colin Trevorrow.”

The Hollywood Reporter is usually spot-on with these type of announcements. I am sure Lucasfilm will be making an official one soon. Very interested to see what Thorne will conjure up!
