J.J. Abrams on Kasdan, the UK, family, Jar Jar, and Star Wars Episode VII.

J.J. Abrams is a cool guy. I have to say, I like the way he handles himself and talking about Star Wars VII. There has been minor news and comments from his around the web, in this post, I think I collect all of it.

First up is the new issue of Total Film which has some J.J. Abrams talk about Star Wars Episode VII.

Abrams on working with Lawrence Kasdan:

“Working with Larry has been one of the most surreal joys of my life,” Abrams says. “We’ve had a lot of fun working together. He’s an incredible guy and an inspiring and spectacular writer.”

On working in the U.K.:

“It’s something that I’ve always intended to do,” he says. “But I’m torn because I have done everything I can to keep the production of my projects in Los Angeles. Yet the opportunity to work with UK crews is something that has always been a dream of mine.

“Of course, that dream existed prior to me being married and having a family, so the reality of making a movie like that for any period of time becomes much more difficult when there are other people that you desperately love and care for involved.”

That certainly seems to paint a picture that some of the rumors about Abrams being unhappy where as least true in spirit. I’m sure the game of telephone that transpired made it seem more dire and heated than it was. We knew Abrams wasn’t entirely jazzed about going to England, but that seems to be his official explanation of the rumors.

Our hombres at Jedi News point us towards this Tweet:

That makes me happy to hear. Kasdan seemed really challenging to work with, in a positive way, in The Making of Return of the Jedi by J.W. Rinzler.

Here are some videos of Abrams Tk10815 has shared:

Thanks for sharing all this, Tk10815!
