This information is exciting to me just because it is another pinch to the arm that proves we aren’t dreaming. They are making Star Wars Episode VII. That is happening right now.
The casting notice for Star Wars Episode VII expires on December 31st, 2013. That’s an an interesting esoteric fact.
For some reason it became news in the last day or so that one could try out online, which I believe was always an option. I prepped the Now, This Is Podcasting! notes on Thursday and we recorded on Friday, where I mentioned it even. In case you didn’t know, you can.
Anyways, here is some small new information from backstage.com which isn’t really new, but it does provide more information what it is worth. The rewording of known information tends to shed small tiny beams of light on this murky topic.
Casting lead roles for “Star Wars: Episode VII,” a Walt Disney Studios produced feature film, directed by J.J. Abrams (“Star Trek”). Project description: “A continuation of the saga created by George Lucas.” This film is projected to be part of a planned trilogy for the “Star Wars” franchise.
With the New Mexico rumors we have heard recently, the admission there will be shooting in the United States is kind of interesting. I know it has been a given, but still:
Shooting starting 2014, locations TBA in England, U.K. & U.S.
Filming at ILM could technically count as filming in the U.S. but you know never, New Mexico might be in.
New small reiterations of the two main roles:
- Rachel (Lead): Female, 17-18, All Ethnicitiesto play 17-18 years old, must be beautiful, smart, athletic, open to all ethnicities (including bi- and multi-racial).
- Thomas (Lead): Male, 19-23, All Ethnicitiesto play 19-23 years old, must be handsome, smart, athletic.
The audition dates:
November 14th in Chicago, IL. November 17th in Troy, MI. November 22nd in Austin, TX. November 24th in Nashville, TN.
If you’re trying out, we wish you luck! Also, make sure you give me or Johnamarie an interview if you get it! Remember, we were your friends when you were nothing in this town! Nothing! We made you!
