Oscar Isaac’s Star Wars: Episode VII role expanded as Plan B?

According to NYPost their insider claims that after Ford’s injury on set on the 12th has forced the crew to switch to Plan B. Plan B supposedly consists of Oscar Isaacs character’s role being expanded.

Details of Isaac’s role have been kept strictly secret — but there’s speculation he plays a descendant or even the son of Ford’s Han Solo character, who has “an especially large role.” But after Ford was injured on the sci-fi epic’s set, spies say Isaac’s part is now being extended as a Plan B.

“They are now beefing up Oscar’s role to be bigger with Harrison injured,” said a source familiar with the project that’s currently shooting at London’s Pinewood Studios.

We have heard some mutterings about Isaac’s character but nothing substantial at this point to make any strong connections between what we have heard. The article goes onto say that another one of their sources claim that it would be impossible to cease production, merely just shuffling the filming order, and the basic storyline wont change much at all.

Another “Star Wars” source told us: “Shutting down the movie is impossible,” and, “The basic story line will not change that much.” The source said no characters were being dramatically expanded, but “the order of filming scenes could be shifted” to work around Ford’s absence.

Obviously Disney/Lucasfilm denied Isaac’s character expansion. I don’t think they would release such info to begin with even if it were true considering that it would be a decent amount of telling information given away (to some extent) of the story.

Ford has had surgery on his leg and is now recovering and production is still on schedule. Full Steam ahead Captain Abrams.
