Disney’s “World of Reading” series provides children books with familiar characters and exciting story lines to young and emerging readers. From Sofia the First to Guardians of the Galaxy, these current and popular stories are broken down into levels with age ranges that help guide parents and educators.
A simple retelling of the episode “Entanglement” from the Disney and Lucasfilm animated series Star Wars Rebels, Zeb to the Rescue is an adventurous story with vibrant and detailed images. It contains familiar Star Wars elements, such as Stormtroopers and droids, as well as new faces, since the story acts as an introduction to Zeb Orrelios. The Level 1 Reader also introduces a mixture of simple and compound sentence structures suited for this particular age group.
The book will make a great addition to a child’s first or current book collection and to the shelves of the local public library. Having browsed through the children’s sections at various New York Public Library branches, I look forward to seeing a younger generation of fans access another Star Wars learning tool. If your child, student, or library user is looking for a Level 2 Reader with a different story line set in the Star Wars universe, also consider World of Reading Star Wars Rebels: Ezra and the Pilot: Level 2 and World of Reading Star Wars Rebels: Sabine’s Art Attack.
