Star Wars: Episode VIII to film in London.

This is one of those stories that is notable but not surprising. We have continually heard that Lucasfilm has leased Pinewood Studios for ten years. The location is supposed to be used to film all Star Wars projects moving forward. Jedi News points us towards this IGN interview where it is reconfirmed Episode VIII is filming in London (meaning Pinewood and the surrounding areas):

IGN: You’ve got this 10-year deal, does that mean that all of the Star Wars movies will be filming in London, is that part of this deal? Will Rian Johnson be coming to the capital for Episode VIII?

Brennan: I can confirm that Episode VIII will be filmed in London.

ILM in London launched this week. With multiple Star Wars films being made all the time and ILM’s normative contracts, they’ve apparently needed to expand greatly to handle the huge workload coming their way over the next decade.
