Star Wars Goodies from New York Comic Con

Thousands of fans turned up Thursday, October 9, to kick off and celebrate geek culture at one of the most popular conventions: New York Comic Con. The real fun, however, begins on Saturday, October 11, when the Star Wars: A New Dawn and Star Wars Rebels panels descend upon NYCC. Until then, I roamed the show floor to grab all of the Star Wars goodies I could get my hands on.

As a Boba Fett fangirl, I had to pass by the Friendly Zombies (aka Frombie) booth to pick up the NYCC exclusive collectible trading pin of everyone’s favorite bounty hunter. From there, I found the Star Wars SMS Audio booth, where R2-D2 beeped at the fans as they captured photographs. The Del Rey booth is the home of Star Wars literature and the location where I picked up a signed poster by artist Joe Corroney of Star Wars: Tarkin and an autographed copy of Star Wars: A New Dawn by John Jackson Miller (not pictured).

The DK Publishing booth gave away bags in celebration of their 40th anniversary and posters of Star Wars in 100 Scenes. A few booths over, I purchased a copy of Star Wars Rebels: The Rebellion Rises by Michael Kogge and Star Wars Rebels: Edge of the Galaxy by Jason Fry at Disney Publishing Worldwide. And because Captain Rex and Ahsoka Tano are my favorite characters of the Star Wars universe, I picked up the LEGO minifigures.

Finally, the Hallmark booth! Decked out in Star Wars gift supplies and Christmas ornaments, the Hallmark booth also happened to be the busiest of them all. Unfortunately, I couldn’t grab any of the goodies handed out earlier in the day. However, for those looking for new holiday tree decorations, there will be a Zeb Orrelios ornament as well as ornaments featuring classic characters. Others in love with the itty bittys line of plush toys will see brand new additions in February 2015.
