Rumor: J.J. Abrams Asks Disney to Move Up Release Date for Star Wars The Force Awakens?

The folks at ikwiz are reporting that J.J. Abrams wants Disney to move up the release date for Star Wars The Force Awakens.

As far as I’m aware, this is the first report regarding anything like this.  According to ikwiz, Abrams announced at “a recent Hollywood industry event” that he asked Disney to move up the release date due to his frustration with leaks.

Again, this is just a rumor.  I’m not sure that’s really even viable at this point.  I can also imagine a scenario where Abrams may have quipped something like that to a group just as a reflection of his annoyance at the leaks.

As a smart man once said…”that would be nice.”
