During yesterday’s Disney shareholder meeting, it was officially announced that the first stand alone film directed by Gareth Edwards is titled Star Wars: Rogue One and will star Felicity Jones. When Disney CEO, Bob Iger, made the announcement, it was reportedly accompanied by a piece of concept art for the film. Now, our friends at /Film have a first description of what that piece of art may have revealed.
Dozens of figures in fatigues appeared to be storming something with a strange helicopterish vehicle (open on the sides) in the background, releasing more troops.
They go on to describe the piece as “gritty,” “[evoking] concept art of a video game,” and ‘[screaming] Halo.”
That doesn’t sound much like a movie about an X-Wing squadron, but again, it is just one piece of concept art taken completely out of context. If the movie truly is about a pilot or group of pilots as everyone is assuming based upon the title, I’m sure there would be more action than just starship combat.
