Happy Star Wars Day! I love today. I love Star Wars (breaking news!) and having a day where everyone… and I mean everyone… geeks out on Star Wars is awesome. Yes, for the vast majority of us, every day is Star Wars Day. But there’s nothing wrong with having a designated day for celebration (did someone say Celebration!?! Nevermind…).
StarWars.com did a great round-up of some of the promotions going on today, but there are so many fun promotions that they couldn’t possibly cover everything. Below is my round-up of #Maythe4thBeWithYou promotions going on today. If I’ve missed any good ones, leave a comment or tweet me!
Free comic! – This technically isn’t a May 4th promotion, but MakingStarWars has teamed up with Comixology to give our readers a FREE STAR WARS COMIC! What’s better than free? All you have to do is go to www.comixology.com/makingstarwars and use the code makingstarwars and you will get a free digital download of Marvel’s Star Wars Vader’s Quest. No, it’s not canon, but it’s a fun read and it’s a 100 page comic… for free!
Amazon is having a pretty big Star Wars sale on their site, but particularly exciting is that you can get some 6″ Black Series figures for a great deal. If you’re a troop builder, you can grab the Clone Trooper for only $11.50! Another great deal is the mighty Chewbacca for only $12.99. Don’t wait on these as they’re selling out quickly.
Thinking about planning that summer vacation? Travelzoo is having this awesome Star Wars deal up to $1600 off a trip to a Star Wars filming location. You can visit Hoth, Yavin IV, or even Alderaan (I’m guessing this deal is for a very limited time… what? Too soon?).
Shirt Punch is in on the Star Wars shirt sale too, featuring four limited designs for only $10 each!
I’m not sure how StarWars.com missed this one, but Marvel is having a pretty cool sale on Star Wars comics. I would recommend Legacy, Volume 1 for only $4.99.
CRAIG DRAKE – DARK INK
Craig Drake, the official artist of Star Wars Celebration Anaheim, has an amazing new print on sale today featuring Vader and two Stormtroopers. I love Craig’s style and this one is absolutely fantastic.
Adidas is allowing Star Wars fans to create custom Star Wars shoes using their miZXFlux app. The app features several Star Wars-inspired prints that you can have imported onto select Adidas shoes. Some of the prints are a little iffy but a couple are pretty sweet. Thanks to SoleCollector for the heads up!
The good folks at Lego always have a fun minifigure giveaway on May 4th. This year they’re featuring Admiral Yularen with the purchase of $75 or more. You also get an extremely cool A New Hope Lego poster as well for those that missed out at Celebration!
May the 4th be with you all! Have a wonderful Star Wars Day! But tomorrow… #RevengeofThe5th…
