Popular social navigation app Waze launches Star Wars in-app experience!

As we get closer to the premier of Star Wars: The Force Awakens promotion for the film is really ramping up! Today popular navigation app Waze is debuting their in-app Star Wars experience. We’re so far beyond just happy meal toys and collectible cups, you guys. I’m so excited to integrate Star Wars in to every aspect of my life!

If you’re not familiar with Waze, Waze is the world’s largest community-based traffic and navigation app with more than 50 million users and a social following of over 1.5 million people! At its core, Waze is all about contributing to the ‘common good’ out there on the road. By connecting drivers to one another, Waze helps people create local driving communities that work together to improve the quality of everyone’s daily driving. That might mean helping them avoid the frustration of sitting in traffic, cluing them in to unexpected road closures  or shaving five minutes off of their regular commute by showing them new routes they never even knew about. When I was living in San Fransisco and commenting an hour each way five days a week, Waze was my best friend. Now that I’m back in Southern California I rely on Waze whenever I’m near the LA area.

The in-app Star Wars integration is really cool and includes a hunt for BB-8 and R2-D2 in your area as well as TIE fighters, X-wings, Stormtroopers and much more! Go to http://waze.com/download to download the app to your device and turn on the C-3PO voice navigation option in your sound settings.
