Where is Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: The Force Awakens?

EW has updated with their newest article “Where is Luke Skywalker?”

As we have been stating for a very long, “Luke Skywalker has gone from hero to MacGuffin.”

Rey is going to find out that the Jedi were real. The Force is real. Luke Skywalker is real. He exists. Whereas Finn is going to learn that the man he was told destroyed the benevolent Empire was a good man and everything he believed to be true was probably false.

He ends up in possession of the lightsaber that once belonged to Luke, and to Luke’s father before him. It was last seen tumbling down an air shaft after Darth Vader sliced off his hand and revealed that he, he was Luke’s father.  In this film … it’s an important piece of the puzzle that will reveal Luke’s fate and whereabouts.

This confirms a huge piece of the puzzle we have been discussing over the last year. The puzzle that will bring the heroes to Luke Skywalker is the MacGuffin. It is nice to know we were on the right track.

Head over and read the full article, it is a good read.
