The article below on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story may contain spoilers from the upcoming film, so read on at your own risk. Please do not openly discuss these rumors on social media as to not spoil the movie for anyone that wants to remain spoiler-free.
For a while now we have been pondering and trying to figure out the name of Diego Luna’s character in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Because of his general look, there were a lot of rumors he was Biggs Darklighter, Luke Skywalker’s best friend in A New Hope. From the sound of things, they simply visit the same space barber. About a month and a half ago we heard that Felicity Jones is playing “Jyn.” (We still have not had any verification of that name, unfortunately.)
As I mentioned in the Jyn article, we aren’t sure if this is a “Kira” situation where older names from previous drafts are used as placeholder names for our new heroes. But sources believe these names to be the final names used in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
If the rumor I have heard is true, Diego Luna is playing Cassein Willix.
Will Cassein and Jyn steal the Death Star plans? We can’t say with 100% positivity those are the names used on screen at this moment in the final script for Rogue One. We have heard the team dress up in one sequence:
In the film “Jyn” dresses up as a Imperial Gunner. “Cassein” doesn’t; instead he goes for a higher commanding station and dresses up as an Imperial Commander.
I like the names and I hope they end up being in the final film. For now, consider this us passing on what we have heard from sources that have had accurate information before. We will have more information on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars: Episode VIII very soon!
