An interesting video on the digital actors of Star Wars: Rogue One has turned up on ABC News. The most interesting part of Clayton Sandell’s visit to ILM is in the form of a test sequence apparently showing Grand Moff Tarkin and Princess Leia Organa aboard the Death Star together. I think it is safe to assume it was test work to exercise emulating the digital actors’ performances to their real-life counterparts performances shot on set in 1976.

Hopefully we get a look at the test footage in a documentary included on the Blu-ray/digital release of Rogue One pretty soon. I saw Rogue One on a pretty bad screen a few days ago and Tarkin looked even better on the bad screen, honestly. The work they pulled off for that film is amazing.
