Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the Standout

Just a year after taking home eight Saturn Awards for The Force Awakens, Lucasfilm took home four more at the 2017 edition held in Burbank, California, on June 28th.

Star Wars snagged trophies for:

Best Science Fiction Film (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story)

Best Direction in a Film (Gareth Edwards)

Best Animated TV Series (Star Wars Rebels)

Best Film Visual/Special Effect (John Knoll, Mohen Leo, Hal Hickel, Neil Corbould)

The full listing of award-winners may be found on the official Saturn Awards Website ( The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films).

Nice to see Rogue One and Rebels take home some hardware. I’ll update the post when any video/interviews from the ceremony becomes available. BTW: It’s particularly fitting to see the special effects team take home a trophy, as it was John Knoll’s idea which became the film, Rogue One. Below, watch Mr. Knoll talk about working with Edwards on the film in a Behind the Scenes Interview by Screen Slam. JB
