Starwars.com’s Twitter just confirmed that the final chapter of the current Star Wars trilogy has been pushed back to December 20th, 2019. It was slated to hit on May 24th, 2019. So back to December we go! This is all thanks to J.J. Abrams returning to direct the film after some recent shake-ups.

I wasn’t originally for December release dates of Star Wars films. May was the tradition. But honestly, I love being able to buy Force Friday merchandise and save it for the holiday season for the kids and the costumes hit near Halloween. It is just so much better.
It would be nice if they moved Ron Howard's Han Solo to December 2018 and allowed all the movies their time to breath.
