Star Tours to split up the original and prequel trilogies from the sequel trilogy

It looks like Star Tours in Disneyland and Disney World is about to change pretty significantly come next year. According to WDW News Today, Star Tours will now be split into two different eras of the Star Wars universe. Star Tours mixed and matched elements from the prequels, orignals, and sequel trilogies, but will now be splitting the experience in half to offer more content for each. Guests will have the option as to what path they want to take when they ride Star Tours.

I actually think this is a really good idea on Disney’s part. The more content they can add, the better. We know that Crait will be the first The Last Jedi location to be offered in the updated Star Tours come November 17th. I love the prospect of being able to emerge myself into the sequel trilogy era for the entire ride. To be honest I’d love it if they split all three eras up to focus on each era that much more. Another big question I have is where will the Star Wars Story films fit into all of this? I’m not sure if they have plans to include those eventually but that’s something worth considering. We won’t be seeing this change until sometime in the next 6-8 months, so we’ll see how this devlops!
