If you want to remain absolutely spoiler free for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, don’t read ahead.
Esquire UK conducted an interview with Poe Dameron himself, Oscar Isaac, where it was confirmed that he’ll be filming Star Wars: Episode IX next year. It’s no surprise that the main three will more than likely survive The Last Jedi, but this at least confirms Poe’s survival.
“While he says he has “not that much more, but a little more to do” in this film, he can at least be assured he survives it; he starts filming Episode IX early next year.”
Kathleen Kennedy mentioned on the Star Wars Show that they have plans for Rey, Finn, and Poe beyond Episode IX, but that could easily change with the recent script and director change. In the meantime, we can all enjoy Star Wars: The Last Jedi when it hits theaters in 27 days!
