Daisy Ridley says she was misquoted wanting to leave Star Wars past Episode IX

Last week Rolling Stone conducted an interview with Daisy Ridley where it sounded like she didn’t want to play Rey after Star Wars: Episode IX. Today, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Daisy says she was misquoted and was just referring to the contract she signed with Disney.

“That was end of a very long day, at the end of a very long shoot. It was pouring down rain in Montreal. We were talking about where the trilogy was going and, all I said was as far as I was concerned, when I signed on, I was signing onto seven, eight and nine.”

Ridley also discussed this with the Associated Press:

“When I did sign up I did sign up for three films, And that’s where I sort of saw the story ending, JJ said the same thing. I think everyone has perhaps taken that as me going, ‘I don’t want anything to do with it’ which is vastly untrue because this is awesome.”

As we stated in the article last week, none of the actors have received the script for Episode IX yet. So they really have no idea if their characters will live or die. Even if their characters all live, this story may be completely done, though I highly doubt it. I genuinely could see these characters going onto more films past Episode IX. For now, we still need to see Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which hits theaters in 10 days!
