Star Wars News: More Kanan, Marvel’s Thrawn, New LEGO Millennium Falcon & Rey Auditions at Disneyland
Around the Galaxy: Star Wars News & Notes - Feb. 14, 2018
Spoilers for Solo: A Star Wars Story Ahead.
Vocationally stretched today, so just a few quick things…
Looking Good
Overnight, Disney XD posted this spectacular clip:
"Let's go get Hera." We're with you, new-look Kanan! #StarWarsRebels returns Monday at 9pm with a must-see hour-long premiere! pic.twitter.com/0HmsWA7sPP

So glad to see some Star Wars Rebels footage before we go into Monday’s two-episode mid-season premiere.
Thrawn returns…
Tweep Stuart Conover pointed this out to me – a Q & A with Marvel’s Jody Houser:
Loved this book – hope the comic is as cool…https://t.co/lyUZ5rrG37

Houser talked about her adaptation of Timothy Zahn’s novel with artist Luke Ross (as suggested by Heather Antos). Jody also spoke to Marvel.com regarding her feelings about Thrawn’s “villainy” in Zahn’s new canon novel:
The interesting thing is that Thrawn is much less of a villain in this novel than in any of his previous appearances. He’s a brilliant and collected tactician who is faced with bigotry and ego that makes little logical sense to him. Probably the most thrilling part is getting to work with a character I’ve been a fan of since I was a kid.
We agree, and can’t wait to get the first issue!
A Valentine’s Day treat from Hollywood Reporter
Hollywood Reporter’s Borys Kit delivered the goods this morning!
Awesome. Wait til my Scotty (5-years-old) sees this!https://t.co/1UjaVIhxrO

And, finally (for this edition of “Around the Galaxy”), Mike Celestino of Inside the Magic sent over some exciting news:
You can become @Disneyland's Rey character from @StarWars, auditions to be held next week https://t.co/jTzKUJW3YS pic.twitter.com/9kuBZKSSxW

On the audition website, Disney reminds interested parties that whoever gets cast will “perform before thousands of guests each day in meet-and-greets at the Disneyland Resort.” It sounds like a perfect opportunity to any Star Wars fan who has dreamed of literally becoming Rey… as long as you meet Disneyland’s strict requirements for the part.
I guess that means I’m out. Oh well, I could always be a Gonk Droid. JB
