Ron Howard confirmed on Twitter today that Jon Favreau is voicing a very cool and important character in Solo: A Star Wars Story. This is where the Jabba the Hutt rumors begin, in case you’re wondering. Howard mentions that Favreau is working on The Lion King and we’re lucky to have him step away from that for a moment for this part.

Favreau is no stranger to Star Wars. He voiced Pre Vizsla, a terrorist leader of Death Watch on Mandalore for a several seasons of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It is pretty cool to see him come back and voice a character for the next live action Star Wars film. It wouldn’t surprise me if he ended up directing one of these films down the road. But for now, just take comfort in that Favreau is a “cool & important alien character” in Solo: A Star Wars Story.
