Is Rey “Somebody” or “Nobody” in Star Wars

Simon Pegg says Abrams had plans for Rey's Parentage

Is Rey "Somebody" or "Nobody" in Star Wars
Rey at Unkar Plutt’s trading post…

Stop the press!

Might there have been other plans for Rey’s parentage; plans altered by The Last Jedi?

Speaking of The Force Awakens, actor Simon Pegg told the Happy Sad Confused podcast, “I know what J.J. kind of intended – at least what was sort of being chucked around.

“That’s kind of been undone. Slightly. By the last one.

“I don’t know. I DON’T KNOW,” exclaimed Pegg — who suddenly sounded like he might wish to have the previous statement back — before adding that his character, “Unkar Plutt,” was the scavenger’s actual father.

So, is Rey “somebody” or “nobody”? You be the judge…

BTW: The entire podcast is excellent, but the piece about The Force Awakens/The Last Jedi may be found around 37: 30. JB
