The rollout for Solo: A Star Wars Story products has been pretty strange to say the least. Every year since 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Lucasfilm launched an annual event called “Force Friday“, a day in which all the new products for that years Star Wars film is released. Rogue One had a smaller toy launch but was still heavily promotefd about a month prior to the event which was called “Go Rogue” day. On Monday, Lucasfilm officially confirmed that this Friday, April 13th, will be the day all Solo toys are released. Unfortunately, it was not really clear if there would be any special events planned for that day, such as midnight madness like years prior. The inital rumor was that Solo was going to have a Force Friday event called “Wookie Weekend”, though that seems to be off the table at this point.
We have been getting a lot of emails in regards to a midnight event and I don’t think that there will be one this year. The only store that might have them out at midnight are 24 hour Wal-Marts. Other stores such as Target will have them out when they open. I wanted to write this up to also make clear what stores will be carrying certain exclusives and so forth. All items that state “Available Spring 2018, will probably not be out on Friday.
