There may be spoilers for Solo: A Star Wars Story ahead…

Early this morning, our own “Maker” here at MakingStarWars.net, said it best:

But while everyone I know was busy getting their hands on opening night Solo: A Star Wars Story tickets or enjoying the Star Wars fun at Disneyland, Ron Howard continued his high profile press tour on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert:

The interview was preceded by an extended clip of the “190 years old” scene, which may be found here (for the time being), but the interview itself was excellent.

The director spoke about first hearing about Star Wars from George Lucas (Howard remembers thinking, “That’s moronically stupid…”), getting creative notes from Lucas on the set of Solo (Ron said he exclaimed, “Hey, guess what, here’s what we’re going to do in the next take…”), and Colbert surprised Mr. Howard with a new “trailer” for Solo.

Here’s a screenshot:

“Those Star Wars Days” starts at around 7:00 of the clip. Howard continues his press tour this morning on Good Morning America. Sources say Mr. Howard may be in the 8:00 AM hour:

Star Wars in the Round

Another pleasant surprise was last night’s release of Solo: A Star Wars Story 360:

The official Star Wars YouTube account sets the scene:

In the Star Wars universe, you may have heard about the infamous moment where Han Solo and Lando Calrissian first meet and ultimately face-off for the legendary Millennium Falcon. With Solo: A Star Wars Story, and the help of ILM, this iconic moment was captured in full 360º, putting you the viewer at the center of it all. Watch it all unfold with Han, Lando, and some new and old friends. This experience is a truly never-before-seen event. Solo: A Star Wars Story 360 was created in association with ILMxLAB.

The piece worked just fine without gear on my iPhone and Mac, so give it a try. VERY COOL.

Let the Blue Milk Flow

Imbibing blue dairy beverages is just one of the notes given by USA Today’s Brian Truitt in his piece, “Happy Star Wars Day! Here are 6 ways to celebrate #MayThe4th and get ready for Solo.”

My favorite? “Buy something fun and extremely nerdy,” which included this picture:

Did I mention? Tickets now on sale!

Yes, I did, but I didn’t yet put your eyes on IMAX’s new featurette, including Amelia Clarke, Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, and, of course, Chewie:

And while we’re at it, how about a new poster:
