Veteran director gave hints about Han & Chewie's early relationship

Spoilers for Solo: A Star Wars Story ahead…

On Friday morning, Director Ron Howard joined Good Morning America host Michael Strahan on the New York set to discuss “Solo: A Star Wars Story” in front of fans excited for #MayThe4thBeWithYou.

“Han Solo and Chewbacca are going to meet each other, and I would just say that they don’t necessarily like each other at first,” Howard revealed to GMA. “It’s not entirely cool at first.

“So I think that’s something to look forward to.”

“It’s really his quest for freedom,” said Howard of Han Solo’s motivations in the film. “It begins to shape him into the Solo we know later.”

The movie opens officially on May 25.
