“Solo: A Star Wars Story” Premieres Tonight

Thursday night showings precede Friday's official opening bow

Around the Galaxy: Star Wars News & Notes – May 24, 2018

The official opening for Solo: A Star Wars Story is May 25. Meanwhile, most of the fans I know are heading to theaters tonight.

Are you heading to a theater tonight? Lots of Star Wars fans will head to cineplexes on Thursday evening to see the Solo: A Star Wars Story before its official bow on Friday, May 25.

On Wednesday, io9’s James Whitbrook wrote:

There’s a new Star Wars movie out this week! The Last Jedi might still feel fresh in your mind, but Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters in just two days. Not been following all the news and reveals from the young Han Solo biopic? We’ve compiled all of the officially released info (no spoilers!) so you’re fully prepped to visit the seedier side of a galaxy far, far away this weekend.

Highlights of Whitbrook’s compilation include a cast list, locations, and a review of “The Life and Times of Han Solo.”

Earlier this month, Gizmodo’s Germain Lussier wrote a review of the film entitled, “Solo Is a Damn Fine Star Wars Story.”

Filled with excellent action and a lot of emotion, Solo: A Star Wars Story is going to surprise a lot of people. Despite its troubled production, it’s ended up being incredibly fun and funny, with great characters, performances, and a huge range of Star Wars references to delight fans and non-fans alike.

We agree! Be sure to enhance your excitement with a read of the above two posts. It might not hurt to read my review, as well.

The Star Wars Show speaks with the cast of Solo

As you prepare for tonight, take a moment to check out this week’s edition of “The Star Wars Show.”

The official Star Wars YouTube page teased:

This week on The Star Wars Show, we sit down with the cast of Solo: A Star Wars Story for insights into the new film, a crash course in speaking Wookiee, and more! Plus, Star Wars: Force Arena launches an update, Qi’ra joins Forces of Destiny, and Lucasfilm’s Head of Post Production Pippa Anderson shows us what it takes to bring Solo to the big screen.

The show takes a break next week, so get your fill, today:

And while you’re at it…

Check out the below review from Josh Gad — yes, Olaf from Frozen (and a whole lot of films) — a big Star Wars fan who hits the nail on the head.

Director Ron Howard responded:

Late Addition

This is so cool. Just watch:

We’ll see you at the movies! JB
