Rebels Report caught a nice piece of Star Wars Resistance news in Ash Crossan’s new ET interview with Jim Rash. Rash says he plays an alien character named Flex who stars opposite Bobby Moynihan. The duo is compared to “Oscar and Felix” from The Odd Couple. In other words, they’re not droids so they’re not Artoo and Threepio (but they are).
Rash’s quote from the video:
You’ll hear pretty much this (voice) come out of a creature. Yeah, it’s really cool. It’s one of those things where they said, ‘you can’t talk about it.’ Bobby Moynihan and I are basically two guys who basically run the equipment check out area. Sort of like an Oscar and Felix, it’s literally a character named Flex.
Well, I wish I knew more, because obviously we drop in and did that sort of as a recurring, so there are so many things that happen in between that we are not privy too. So I can’t wait to see it, I saw like at best early animation and that was already amazing and it wasn’t even the finished product.
Watch the video first hand. 5:54 the Star Wars Resistance news pops up:
It is pretty nice to hear praise for the early animation. I would really like to see a visually captivating animated Star Wars show like The Clone Wars was. What little we have seen of the show has made it seem like it is going to be a pretty new visual take on Star Wars in animated form. I’m really looking forward to new animation in a style unlike anything in Star Wars that has come before it. It’s going to be really fun to check back in with the Resistance pilots and meet some new creatures. Ant who doesn’t love comedic duos?! Jim Rash and Bobby Moynihan are hilarious so it is safe to assume these characters could be really fun.
Star Wars Resistance airs this fall on The Disney Channel with rebroadcasts on Disney XD. Just a few more months to go until we see the new adventures of Kazuda Xiono, a young pilot recruited by the Resistance and tasked with a top-secret mission to spy on the growing threat of the First Order who will no doubt have to check out equipment from the comedic duo Jim Rash and Bobby Moynihan are playing. Check out the full interview with Jim Rash by Ash Crossan on Entertainment Tonight.
