Today is EA Play, an event where a bunch of new video games titles are announced. Last year at this time we got our first look at Star Wars Battlefront II. EA announced today at the event that it’s working on a new Star Wars title with Respawn Entertainment. The game is called Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and will feature a padawan’s journey after the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
From Respawn Entertainment comes a brand-new action adventure game which tells an original Star Wars™ story around a surviving Padawan set shortly after the events of Star Wars™: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith™. The game will be releasing Holiday 2019. Sign up for our newsletter to be among the first to learn more about Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order™.
Right off the bat my mind went to Ahsoka Tano as the main character. Now I do think that if that was the case they probably would have just said she was the main character. This unknown padawan could be a completely new character. How cool would it be if it was Ahsoka, though? They could finish up some of her Clone Wars stories through this game. This looks to be another game that will feature a campaign which gets me super excited by this announcement as I loved playing the Battlefront II campaign.
I love the idea that we get to play as a Jedi post-Revenge of the Sith and escape Order 66. This by far sounds like one of the most exciting Star Wars video games to date. Another character who we could follow (though I think is unlikely) is Kanan Jarrus from Star Wars Rebels. But as I said before I think they would have announced who the Padawan is unless they are keeping that a secret for now. Fallen Jedi will be released right along side Star Wars: Episode IX. Both Battlefront titles released on the cusps of The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi so I totally see why they choose for this one to be released alongside another Saga movie. There will be tons of hype for both the game and Episode IX. I can’t wait to get my hands on this game!
UPDATE: Fallen Order will be released in winter 2019, not the fall.
