J.J. Abrams has officially posted his first tweet to celebrate the first day of filming Star Wars: Episode IX! The image features a blurry image of Finn’s new outfit, as well as Chewbacca on the Falcon. I’m not 100% sure but I believe Rey is piloting the Falcon here.
Bittersweet starting this next chapter without Carrie, but thanks to an extraordinary cast and crew, we are ready to go. Grateful for @rianjohnson and special thanks to George Lucas for creating this incredible world and beginning a story of which we are lucky to be a part. #IX pic.twitter.com/FOfnGwVut5

J.J. also posted a heartfelt message about Carrie Fisher. It’s crazy to think that this amazing trilogy is coming to an end so soon. I’m hoping J.J. posts a video on the first day of filming much like Rian Johnson did for The Last Jedi. John Boyega also confirmed that they have wrapped shooting for the day. So that’s day 1 in the books! Just seeing a blurry image of Finn, Rey, and Chewie gets me super excited for the movie. December 2019 can’t get here fast enough.
