Cassian Andor, Benioff/Weiss’ Star Wars productions to have new home outside of Pinewood Studios?

Star Wars Television Series "White Snake" to film at Dagenham?

While working on this story, Lucasfilm confirmed the Star Wars hiatus which was kind of obvious for a while now. For the last six months or so, the word has been that Marvel was going to be moving into Pinewood and it didn’t seem like Star Wars was going to be back at Pinewood at that studio anytime soon. I followed a tip that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker props and such were not being stored at Pinewood, but instead the props were being transported to a different location closer to a future Star Wars studio. I was fairly certain that Cassian Andor was the only production filming in the Fall.

My investigation lead to me to uncover that the untitled Cassian Andor television production would not be coming to my area, as The Mandalorian had, as I had hoped. Instead the Cassian Andor Disney+ series is will be filming in England but not at Pinewood. All of the Star Wars films from The Force Awakens to The Rise of Skywalker had filmed there and only The Mandalorian had filmed elsewhere entirely.

After digging some more, I uncovered the Cassian Andor series is codenamed: White Snake. With that knowledge I also saw evidence I cannot discuss that leads me to believe that Dagenham appears to be the filming location for the series and it also appears to be where props from The Rise of Skywalker are being stored until reshoots for that film are to occur after they assess the first cut of The Rise of Skywalker which screened at Bad Robot last week.

After talking to some new friends in the area at Dagenham, it also appears that when the studio site is full ready ready to go, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss’ Star Wars saga will be filmed at the location. At least people working in the area believe that to be the case. The codename of that production is a troll of epic proportions. I think it may be funnier to just let that one play out for now.

At the moment, it appears like Cassian will film at the Dagenham Studios and once the facility is entirely ready, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss’ Star Wars saga will be the first Disney era Star Wars film to be made outside of Pinewood, according to people working in around there. The Star Wars hiatus we are currently having after The Rise of Skywalker is to let the studio construction finish up and to allow the Weiss and Benioff to create the best possible saga without an unreasonable time crunch. If all of this is accurate and at this time we believe that to be the plan, it seems like the responsible and smart way to handle the next saga.

On a side note, there appears to be filming going on at Greenham Common we cannot confirm is for Star Wars. It kind of doesn’t make sense considering how things went in The Last Jedi for the area. I also feel that the proximity to the first cut being screened just last week doesn’t really leave much time for there to have been planned re-shoots. That said, Greenham Common, famous Star Wars location from The Force Awakens as D’Qar is getting a little bit of love:

I hope “White Snake” aka the Cassian Andor Disney+ series is better than the shitty band.

And speaking of shitty bands, check out mine:
