Episode IXSequel Trilogy

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Vanity Fair issue is here!

The Vanity Fair Annie Leibovitz issue is upon us! You can check out all the pictures here. There is an article about Billie Lourd wanting to be in scenes with her mother, Carrie Fisher. The issue also confirms  the MakingStarWars.net scoop that the new planet is called “Pasaana” but we didn’t have the spelling correct and discussed it on our Rumor Party episode of the podcast. The writing suggests that Kylo is mowing down Knights of Ren (which they give us a great look at) in the trailer but I still don’t think that’s actually the case. It also suggests that Allegiant General Pryde played by Richard E. Grant could be Hux’s father but we know that also is not the case from Star Wars canon itself. It is also worth reiterating that the images in these are staged and not stills from the film. Back in the day we saw Darth Maul and Obi-Wan Kenobi fighting on Tatooine which never happens in The Phantom Menace.

There is also a video as well!

The Vanity Fair Covers:

We also got a really rad look at Zorri Bliss, Keri Russell’s character which thankfully also confirms our description scoop for the character.

Here’s a few of the cool pictures from the piece but make sure to check out all the Vanity Fair coverage. The picture of Jannah and Finn is really neat to see as before we just saw the horses they were on with little pieces of things to note where the CG would apply later on in the production. The photo of Luke Skywalker seems to play back into the original Force-back moment too. I also found it funny that Chewbacca is ” naked” in his photo with Lando and Finn because of the Threepio going Rambo stuff.

The full Knights of Ren article is behind the subscription paywall, because Vanity gotta eat too. That said, the look was pretty good this time and the range of photos is nice. I’m pretty excited for it. It also is nice to have it round out the collection of issues from the saga and Vanity Fair.
