The New Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Kylo Ren Image From Empire Explained?

This morning Empire Magazine released a new still of Kylo Ren from Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker. It features Kylo holding himself down with the Force as Stormtroopers are seen flying around him. Chris Terrio, Co-Writer of The Rise Of Skywalker commented on Kylo and Rey’s relationship in the film:

“Some of the most interesting scenes in The Last Jedi are the conversations between Rey and Ren,” he said, noting the different side of Ben Solo that Rey is able to tap into. “We’ve tried to pick up that complicated relationship that really has been present ever since the interrogation in Episode VII. When Ren takes off his mask, there’s a nakedness about him with Rey that he doesn’t express to anyone else. Rian developed that in fascinating ways and we’ve been able to develop it even further.”

This photo appears to line up with some of what we’ve heard happens in Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker. The shot itself we believe takes place on Kylo Ren’s Star Destroyer as Rey recovers the Millennium Falcon, she blasts off before Kylo can stop her. The afterburners of the Falcon blow everyone back. It is a very similar shot to The Force Awakens when Han Solo takes off on the Falcon after the Rathtar scene. We also shot a video discussing the rumor more:
