The reliable Slash Film is reporting that Rosario Dawson will be playing Ahsoka Tano in Star Wars: The Mandalorian. There’s very little reason to doubt the report as Slash Film is one of the strongest film sites with lots of connections to the industry. I would take the report very seriously as extremely likely.
We have exclusively learned that Rosario Dawson will appear in The Mandalorian season 2 and are excited to report that she will be playing a fan-favorite character previously only seen in the Star Wars animated productions.
With the way Star Wars Rebels ended, it would seem that Ahsoka is wandering the galaxy with Sabine looking for Ezra Bridger. Sabine is a Mandalorian. So it seems very natural, if not easy to connect Ahsoka via Sabine to the Mandalorians. The next question we might want to ask is who is playing Sabine? It would seem likely she’s in it too but of course that’s conjecture and beyond /Film’s report.
Another connection could be that Ahsoka is a Jedi in essence. She has the force and she even partakes in Rey rising. One interesting note pointed out to me by my buddy Eric is that when you watch The Rise of Skywalker with subtitles, it lists who is speaking to Rey but Ahsoka’s not named while the other Jedi are.
Will Ahsoka be The Child aka Baby Yoda’s mentor in the Force?
The casting itself is pretty rad. Rosario Dawson is a really likable actor and a pretty solid one at that. I’ve actually never been a huge fan of how Ahsoka translates to live-action design. But the way she ended up with the cloak and stuff was pretty rad and I can see that translating very well and Dawson looking pretty great in the part.
