In this super late edition of Now, This Is Podcasting! Randy and Jason are left to their own devices and the show is well, a little relaxed to say the least. This week the boys spend the show remembering Celebration I, discussing last week’s Star Wars: Episode VII news, and taking questions from Pod People!

This week join us for the return of Jeremy and Johnamarie, another enhanced podcast episode, and send us your comments or questions!

1/12/14 – 8 hours of Podcasting! The Kessel Run: A Fan Fundraiser for Rancho Obi-Wan!

This Sunday January 12th, 2014, we will be podcasting for 8 hours non-stop! We’re hoping the Star Wars community will join us while we discuss Star Wars all day for fun and to support a great place! We are urging everyone to make a donation to Rancho Obi-Wan,  between the hours of 12 and 8pm PST!

For 8 hours, Randy Lo Gudice of 1985Fm.com, Mark Newbold of Jedi News.co.uk, Johnamarie Macias of the TheWookieeGunner.com, Jeremy Conrad of FuriousFanboys.com and Jason Ward of MakingStarWars.net will be live via:

http://www.ustream.tv/channel/makingstarwars

Throughout the day, we will be joined by:

rancho-logo1

Donate:

For every $10.00 donated to Rancho Obi-Wan via the Donate button found here, Rancho Obi-Wan will donate a Star Wars book to Operation Paperback! Operation Paperback is a non-profit organization that collects gently used books nationwide and delivers them to American troops overseas, as well as veterans and military families in the U.S.

 How it came about:

After one long three hour podcast, Jeremy’s wife asked “what is there left to talk about?”

Jeremy responded “It’s Star Wars!”

Jason, agreeing with Jeremy said they could easily do eight hours of podcasting! Mark Newbold of Jedi News stepped in and suggested we do it as a fundraiser. For the next few days Jason and Mark shot emails back and fourth and decided there wasn’t a better non-profit to support than Rancho Obi-Wan, which houses the largest Star Wars collection in the world. Such a unique and fantastic place deserves to be preserved via support from the Star Wars fan community!

What will the show entail?

We plan to discuss everything Star Wars over that 8 hours! From Episode I-VI to Episode VII and beyond! From the Expanded Universe and continuity to Star Wars being for everybody! There is also a rumor we might do some Star Wars Mad Libs, but we can neither confirm nor deny that report. We can promise great discussion and a lot of laughs.

We will also interact with the Star Wars community via Twitter during the live show via the hash tag: #KesselRun.

We hope you will join us live on Sunday, January 12th from 12-8pm PST! After the live event, an audio version will be available via NowThisisPodcasting.net. If you cannot join us, you can always make a donation to Rancho Obi-Wan at any time via http://www.ranchoobiwan.org/support/services/

  • Star Wars has returned to Marvel Comics after years with Dark Horse.
  • A Boba Fett spin-off movie is probably definitely happening.  Who would you like to see direct?
  • Ewok Talk! Love them or hate them, Ewoks are the cutest little teddy bears in the galaxy far, far away.
  • Community questions. Thank you everyone who submitted, and keep them coming for next week’s show!

Exclusive Interview with Jonny Mathers: The Next Chewbacca?

We had a chance to chat with Jonny Mathers. He has become somewhat of a news spectacle because he is vying for a role in the next Star Wars film, Star Wars Episode VII. Mathers is exactly the same height as Peter Mayhew who played Chewbacca in Star Wars Episodes III-VI.  He has not spoken to anyone officially yet, but he’s hoping someone will give him an audition for Star Wars as he’s exactly the seven feet three inches tall, perfect for Chewbacca and a long time Star Wars fan.

Listen to the full interview on this week’s upcoming Now, This Is Podcasting! and check out the transcript below.

Remember to share Jonny’s Facebook page to learn more about his quest to be in Star Wars Episode VII!
